A well structured diabetes course, Fellowship in Diabetology course (F.Diab) designed to equip the trainee to prevent the onset of disease by creating awareness through continuous medical education, to increase the life span of Diabetic subjects by offering proper treatment methodologies and regular check-ups and to reduce the incidence of complications.

The Centre offers two year full time course “Fellowship in Diabetology”

Eligibility

A pass in MBBS degree (obtained from any recognized University in India). Two years clinical experience may be preferred.

Age Limit

Upper Age Limit: 30 years.

About the course

This is an intensive course aimed at specialisation in diagnosis, screening and management of eye diseases in diabetes. It is based on theoretical, case study and clinical approach designed to maximize the quality and efficiency of diabetic eye care and prevent blindness in diabetes. The course aims at imparting knowledge about detailed assessment of retina, diagnosis, pathogenesis and management of diabetic retinopathy. Training will also be given in glaucoma and neuro-ophthalmology evaluation in diabetic subjects. Hands on training are imparted on specialised investigations such as digital colour photography, FFA, OCT, fields. Training is given in the use of laser in treatment of diabetic retinopathy.

 Course Duration

The duration of the course is one year.

Eligibility

A pass in MBBS degree (obtained from any recognized University in India) and Diploma in Opthalmology (D.O)/ M.S in Ophthalmology. Candidates with prior clinical experience will be given preference.
